The Week of Chaos, Fun, and Winter’s Last Hurrah ~ Homeschool Week Wrap-Up

Happy Friday! Is it still winter where you are?

In my life this week…

Chaos. I don’t know why it always surprises me, but it could have been some personal and self-imposed deadlines. Or the fact that we’re all healthy again and the children have their energy back making it feel like we need to pad the walls. Or the planning for next week.

Chaos. Maybe that should have been my word for this year?

In our homeschool this week…

A substitute teacher J created a makeshift microscope with a window and a magnifying glass. Onion skins have large rectangular cells that can be seen without much magnification. So the preparation of a cheese ball lunch morphed into a science lesson.

Slap a bit of green onion skin on the sliding glass door. Retrieve the magnifying glass from the oldest child’s spy kit. Instant science.
The lesson actually served a dual purpose. It turned into a refresher course on the proper technique for cleaning windows.

Have fun! That’s it, friends. The sum total of my wisdom for this week. {See above mention of chaos. J}

Places we’re going…

Outside to play in the snow! We finally had a big snowstorm, and Tuesday afternoon we enjoyed the wonder of falling snow.
So, you don’t have to be Nancy Drew to figure out what Wednesday was. SNOW DAY!!

My favorite thing this week was…

Lunchtime fun!
“Is this edible?”

{Before anybody gets worked up, let me assure you it was just for fun. Ungrateful and complaining attitudes are not allowed at our table.}

On the blog this week…

My last two installments in the Big Family Idea Bonanza Series ~

I’m grateful for…

Winter’s last hurrah!

    1. The cells aren't really easy to see, but it's possible. Have fun, Christa!

  2. Great pictures. I am glad to hear ungratefulness isn't allowed at your table. I don't like it either. It looks like your dining room is nice and snug like ours. With a big table smack dab in the center of a rather small dining room, what can you do? It's funny, when we have company and put the extension in, the table sticks out into the living room. :)

    1. Yes, snug! When we put the second extension in, we can't walk around it. As always, thanks for visiting, Rachel!
